Mezzanine Platforms Provide Safe Access to Tall Structures

Badger Sheet Metal Works Designs and Builds Mezzanine Platforms in Wisconsin

Mezzanine platforms that provide access to structures or elevated areas above floor or ground level are an important component to a company’s overall safety program. Badger Sheet Metal Works, a leading metal fabricator based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, builds a wide range of standard and custom mezzanine platforms in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

“Mezzanine platforms can tend to be an overlooked aspect of a project because they fall outside of the primary purpose of the structures they accompany,” says Kenny Coe, director of sales at Badger Sheet Metal Works. “We often come to the customer’s site to collect field measurements prior to designing and building the mezzanine platform.”

Design, Construction and Installation of Mezzanine Platforms

In addition to providing a draft design for approval, Badger Sheet Metal Works specialists collaborate with customers on additional details such as toe-kick plates, cages to satisfy OSHA regulations and any safety yellow painting.

“We complete as much of the project as we can in our facility so any field-weld or final assembly activities can be performed at the site,” Coe says. “For the most part, the mezzanine platforms we deliver are plug and play for our customers, and they can use them immediately.”

Mezzanine platforms fulfill a variety of roles including inspection for large tanks, roof access, warehouse access, OEM processes, and general maintenance. They also occasionally supplement the custom enclosure bases built by Badger Sheet Metal Works that provide foundations for larger steel enclosures.
